H.P. Gibson is a toy company in England that has been around for a long time and still going strong . This
is one of their contemporary sets. The tiles are identical to Royal Traveler, Cardinal and Michael Stanfield, and part of the reason I feel there are only a few companies making mah jong sets, then
they are being sold under several labels. The box and accessories are different and the book bears the name of the toy company. The box is heavy cardboard with a nice Asian design. This set was also purchased in England.
There are 144 embossed wood tiles, dozens of wooden betting sticks, four plastic wind disks and a pair of dice.
The tiles measure 1 1/4" x 7/8" x 1/4", the designs are embossed and painted. The box
measures 8 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 1 1/2". The booklet measures 5 3/4" x 4" with 30 pages. |
