Another pyrographic box, this one has five drawers, 4 to hold tiles and one for betting sticks. The booklet was not with this particular set but one of my other sets has one so you will be able to see what it looks like. These tiles are identical (except for the green on the face of the tiles and the red painted backs) to a set that has the name Loring P. Rixford, Importer on it. I don't think there is any doubt they were made by the same company and imported under different names. I have several Moy Gam sets, they are all a bit different. Different boxes and different designs on the tiles.
There are 144 tiles with this set, a number of betting sticks made from wood and in different colors and lengths. The wind indicators are made from bamboo but I have a feeling that they are hand made and an addition. The outside of this box is an alligator skin design.
The tiles measure 1 3/16" x 13/16" x 1/2", the designs are embossed (lightly) and painted. The box measures 8 1/2" x 6" x 4 3/4". |
