This set has some very nice designs. The booklet describes the face of the tiles as "durable ivorytone surface", I think that means the designs were painted on paper, glued to the surface of the wood, cut into tiles and then varnished. The varnish has deepened in color with age and cracked, but it is so rich looking. When they cut the tiles they didn't sand them, I had to actually take many of the tiles and disconnect them (not sawed through completely) in order to take the pictures. Pretty simple conclusion that this set has never been played with. If you examine the picture of the tiles, on the left you can see the where the saw cut didn't go completely through and separate the tiles, looks a bit like the tile has hair sticking out on the left corners. Pretty designs, I love the pagodas of course.

There are 144 tiles, numerous colored betting sticks, dice, a booklet and a score pad. The box is heavy cardboard with 5 trays for the tiles and accessories.

The tiles measure 1 5/16" x 7/8" x 9/16", the designs are embossed (lightly) and painted. The box measures 9 " x 5 3/4" x 3 1/4". The booklet measures 8 3/8" x 3 13/16". (it's a four-page folded brochure type).
