Another bamboo set in a traditional flat travel box with compartments for dice and betting sticks (missing from this set but I will add them). One thing I have noticed on many of these bamboo sets is that the face of the tile appears to have been painted
before the design was painted. This may have been done so that the grain of the bamboo didn't take away from the designs. I am sure not an expert on wood and I am not sure what this box is made of except I do not think it is rosewood.
There are 144 tiles that measure 1 1/16" x 3/4" x 13/16". The box measures 9" x 6 3/4" x 3". |
